The Best Place is the Present Moment

Tomorrow will have its own trouble, stay present

Anxiety is a real thing that people deal with daily. The possibility that something could happen causes us to create future scenarios that we may never experience. Over the last few months, I have experienced levels of anxiety that would wake me up in the early hours of the morning and challenge my ability to rest and regroup. I had a major problem trying to figure out ways to obtain a level of relief from my daily stress. Fatherhood, Husbandry, and Work life all have different stressors involved and I could seem to get pass them. When re-read Matthew 6:31-34 (link here), I received the revelation that I was approaching this entire season of my life from the wrong angle..

The Bible says: “therefore, take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ Sometimes we are stuck with a way of thinking that causes we forget that God does indeed loves and provides for us daily. However when you perceive that your Daily Bread isn’t sufficient enough, you can’t help but panic. Through scripture, we understand that there is power in being present in the moment. Potentially, you may waste the most important resource we all have: time

Think about this: you and Beyoncé have the same amount of time! We aren’t getting any younger and time waits for no one. This year is passing so quickly, yet it still feels like every day can drag on. Over the years, I have not taken the time to embrace every good and bad experience. As I look back, those times were necessary for celebration as well as reflection and tears. Now that I have a child, my perspective is changing for the better. Some of us need to slow down and enjoy the moments of now. I came to understand that my daughter will only remember the time that I spent with her, not the money I spent on her.

It’s great to have ambition for a preferred future. Please don’t trade your time now with loved ones, friends, and family, for something that isn’t promised. There are no return policies on time and all sales are final.
